Fly-In at the Falls 2026

Fly-In at the Falls is a scenic powered paragliding gathering featuring diverse flying over lakes, river valleys, farmland, and rolling hills—offering a different journey each day. Hosted by Freedom Flight Academy, a veteran-founded nonprofit flight school in Southern Kentucky, the event blends great flying with community and supports scholarships that help veterans train and fly at little to no cost.

Morning Flights

• Sunrise around 5:30 am; shaded river valleys and farmland often create fun, foggy morning conditions worth the early start.

Daytime Activities (within 5 minutes)

• State Park amenities: pool, diner, lakeside cabins, disc golf course, marina with boat rentals, basketball and tennis courts.
• Children’s playground at the south end of the runway.
• Lafayette Golf Course offers a free shuttle for the event (located at Falls of Rough Resort, a few miles west of the airport).

Night Life

• Sunset around 8:00 pm, followed by karaoke at the Resort Pub.
• Friday night Bluegrass Concert until 10:00 pm.

STOL / Competitions

• Competition tasks and scoring supported by Gaggle Flight Recorder, including 3D route tracking and recording.

Vendors on Site

• On-field support for essentials: props, spark plugs, oil, and more.

Fuel & Lodging

• Gas station 500 feet across the road with multiple fuel options, including ethanol-free.
• State Park Lodge and two motels within sight of the airport; Falls of Rough Resort is about 5 minutes away.
• Ask for special event rates when inquiring about rooms.
